Dulce Lauría

My name is Dulce Maria Lauria, I was born in Buenos Aires and I am 22 years old . In my earliest memories, I remember my dad and my grandparents listening to tango on Sunday afternoons. In high school I became interested in poetry: I read Alfonsina Storni, Becquer, and when I ran out of their works, I read tangos. Without really knowing why, I felt that they were mine.
I always liked reading, writing, drawing and painting. Inside I have a need to express myself through art that I can neither explain nor silence. I can not sing! But luckily one day I encouraged myself to take a tango lesson, and over time I discovered that those lyrics which inspired me so much could convert into movement through my body.

I entered DNI through an audition in January 2013. Since then, I learn the TTC Technique from the teachers of the school and also regularly take classes in yoga and contemporary dance. I love to understand a little more every day how the body works, and how dancing is health and beauty. I consider myself very fortunate to be part of DNI Tango, where I continue my training as a dancer and where I have the opportunity to share my humble experience with others.
